About Me

My name is Ali and I am a fat college student.  I am a senior women’s studies major working on an undergraduate thesis on fat positive feminism– looking at the interactions between fat acceptance and feminism.  At my school the senior thesis is called “Independent Study” and most often abbreviated as “IS” (hence the “Femin[IS]m” in my blog’s title).

I am creating a blog as a part of my study because the most rich and valuable current sources I have come across regarding fat acceptance have been blogs.  Rather than lurking around on other’s blogs anonymously, however, I decided that I would really like to participate in the blogosphere and make my research an interactive process.  So I would really appreciate feedback and any guidance anyone can give me.  This is my first online presence outside of social networking sites, so I am definitely an amateur when it comes to blogging, but I would like use this blog to share my research, start discussions related to my topic, and to learn from others.

For a better understanding of where I am coming from please read My Story.

  1. You are doing a wonderful blog, and your narratives are excellent, and thought provoking. I will be keeping an eye on them, and commenting now and then. Good luck with your project!

    Hi Ali
Could you email me at fatlotofgood@internode.on.net? I have something to ask you (nothing bad!) and I don’t seem to have your email address.
